As in other cases, to obtain a residence permit, you first need to obtain a long-term visa (type D). This visa is issued for six months. It is necessary to cross the border of Bulgaria with it, about which an appropriate mark must be put in the passport. Documents for a residence permit are submitted no later than two weeks before the expiration of the permit to stay in the country. The application is processed within two weeks and costs 10 levs. A residence permit is issued for a maximum of a year. Two weeks before the end of the term, you can apply for an extension of the permit, if necessary. The applicant must
confirm the basis on which he or she wants
to obtain a visa, and then a residence permit.
For pensioners, the following documents
act as confirmation of the ground:

In addition, a standard documentation package

It is a bank statement from a Bulgarian bank, which confirms the presence of the required amount on the candidate's account - at least 6 Bulgarian minimum pensions (in 2020 the amount is 250 * 6 = 1500 levs). If there is no account in a Bulgarian bank, and it is impossible to open it for some reason, you can use the services of a bank that has a subsidiary branch in Bulgaria. In this case, it is advisable to agree in advance with the consulate on the
possibility of providing a certificate from
this financial institution.
