A practical guide to putting together a flawless professional dossier as a foreign national
In February 2016, the Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair announced new routes. From November, the airline's aircraft will begin flying from the Bulgarian capital. For now, flights are expected to operate to Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne.

Ticket prices are expected to start at 19.99 euros (one-way flight), meaning that many major Western European cities will be reachable for less than 45 leva.
Ryanair already operates flights from Bulgaria, but only from Plovdiv, from where you can travel to London or Frankfurt. This low-cost carrier flies mainly between European cities. The low ticket prices are the result of across-the-board cost saving.
In particular, you may take only 10 kilograms of hand luggage on board, and the bag’s dimensions must not exceed 55*40*20 cm. Even a camera or a laptop must be packed into this single bag, which is the only one you may take with you. The cost of additional baggage depends on the season and the route.
Passengers pay for all additional services on board, and such services are comparatively expensive. For example, printing a boarding pass at the airport costs 40-60 euros, which exceeds the price of the ticket. For this reason, passengers are advised to print their boarding passes themselves; check-in is only available online. Food and drinks are also not included in the ticket price.
Despite all these details, cheap flights remain exceptionally popular in European countries. The savings do not affect flight safety, and since the company was founded in 1985 it has had no major accidents. The chance to now fly from the Bulgarian capital to Spain and Germany at low prices looks very attractive.
At present, the most active low-cost carrier in Bulgaria is the Hungarian company Wizz Air, which operates flights from Sofia, Varna and Burgas on 27 routes.
