Employers in Bulgaria may hire foreign specialists from third countries, including migrants and refugees
It is fairly difficult for foreign nationals to find a job in Bulgaria, especially when they are not high-level IT specialists. Help came from an unexpected quarter – from the BCCI.
** Usually the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is dealt with by those who work in trade representative offices in Bulgaria and obtain a long-term residence permit on that basis. However, the BCCI, in partnership with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, has now offered cooperation to Bulgarian companies wishing to hire nationals of third countries (outside the EU), including migrants and refugees. This is reported on the BCCI website. Companies wishing to hire foreigners must fill in a special form.
Foreign nationals may fill vacancies at catering establishments, grocery stores, online service companies, retail, call centres, manufacturing and so on across the whole country.
Among those looking for work in Bulgaria are nationals of Syria, Pakistan, Nigeria, Lebanon, Russia and other countries, who speak Bulgarian, English, French and other languages and have secondary or higher education. The campaign is being run as part of the ERIAS refugee integration project.
