Type D visa — a long-stay visa.

A type D visa can be obtained if you have grounds for a long-term residence permit or permanent residence permit in Bulgaria: a pensioner with sufficient means, a trade representative office of a foreign company, study at a Bulgarian university, family reunification with a foreigner residing in the country, a company in Bulgaria providing jobs for 10 Bulgarian citizens, etc.

List of documents for obtaining a type D visa:

— an application form and two colour photographs (3,5х4,5);

— a foreign travel passport valid for at least 18 months (original and a copy of page 1);

— a document confirming accommodation for the period of stay (title of ownership or a lease + a declaration from the owner of the property, pursuant to § 1, item 20, sub-item 2 of the Supplementary Provisions of the Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria (ЗЧРБ));

— proof of financial means for the period of stay (a certificate from a Bulgarian bank showing an amount in the account equivalent to 3 304 euros);

— a medical insurance policy with coverage of at least 30 000 euros (can be arranged through us);

— a certificate of criminal record or the absence thereof (with translation and legalisation, valid for 6 months from the date of issue);

In addition, depending on the grounds for obtaining the type D visa, further documents are required:

— a document on the registration of a trade representative office of a foreign company in Bulgaria (a БТПП decision and a БУЛСТАТ certificate), a БТПП certificate.

— a document confirming pension income for the last three months, issued by the relevant pension authority;

and others.

To obtain a long-term residence permit or permanent residence permit in Bulgaria, you must enter the country on a type D visa and submit the documents to the migration service of the МВР at your place of residence.
