OBTAINING PERMANENT RESIDENCE
Minors foreigners left by foreign parents in
Bulgaria, who are placed in a social or integrated
medical and social service for protection, can
apply for permanent residence in the country.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
Art. 25, para 1, sub-para 14 of the Bulgarian Law
on Foreigners provides for such an opportunity
for children born in Bulgaria and left here, and
Art. 25, para 1, sub-para 15 - for children born in
another country, but left by their parents on the
territory of Bulgaria. Obtaining a permanent
residence on these grounds has its own
characteristics.
In particular, there is no question of entering the
country on a long-term visa - the children are
already in Bulgaria.
To obtain permanent residence, the following
documents are submitted to the migration
service at the place of residence of the child:
An application to the migration service for the provision of permanent residence for young children is submitted by the head of a specialized institution or social service. Minor children submit an application in person in the presence of the head of a specialized institution or social service, who must confirm his consent by signing the application. The term for processing documents is 2 months. After this period, if the permit is positive, permanent residence is issued, the child is registered in the Community at the place of residence and the Bulgarian SCN (Single Civil Number) is assigned to him.
OTHER GROUNDS
- Foreign passport or a document replacing it, if the child has one, with a copy of the spread with a picture and personal data.
- Resolution from the Directorate of Social Assistance "Social assistance" on the actual location of the child.
- Birth certificate.
- A copy of the court decision and / or order for the child’s accommodation.
- Document confirming the payment of the application processing fee (10 levs).
- Application.
