RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR SEASONAL EMPLOYEES

A permit for a long stay (up to 9 months) can be obtained from the migration service at the regional police station after receiving a relevant decision from the authorities of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and entering Bulgaria with a long-term visa. The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy issues a decision for the term of the employment contract - not less than 90 days and not more than 9 months. Within this period, one prolongation of the permit is possible after the relevant decision of the Ministry. The first thing to do is to get a positive decision from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. With this document, you must apply to the Bulgarian consulate in the country of your legal stay to obtain a long-term visa.

Together with the decision, you must provide a standard package of documents:

• Passport and copies of its spreads with a photo and a stamp of the last entry into Bulgaria.
• Completed application form.
• Health insurance for the duration of your stay.
• Evidence of housing and funds.
• Certificate of no criminal record (translated, legalized).

After arriving in Bulgaria on a Visa D, you should contact the regional office of the migration service to obtain a residence permit. The package of documents you need is the same as for a visa. In the plastic card, which is issued to a foreigner, "seasonal" worker is marked in the field "type of permit". According to the requirements of Regulation No. 1030/2002, when changing an employer, a foreigner must obtain a new permit, the validity of which will not be longer than the original one. Foreigners who have worked in Bulgaria in the last five years as seasonal workers can apply for an accelerated issuance of a residence permit. If the permit expires during the renewal or prolongation process, the seasonal worker may remain in the country until a decision is made on his application, if such was submitted during the validity period of the previous permit.
